In 1806 it was home to Sir John Sinclair creator of the first Statistical Account of Scotland.
No. 7 was internally restored by the Trust in 1975 to its original state, and is open to the public as The Georgian House.
The upper floor was formerly the official residence of the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. The building includes one fireplace brought from Hill of Tarvit in Fife in 1975.
Charlotte Square is a city square in Edinburgh, Scotland, part of the New Town, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The square is located at the west end of George Street, intended to mirror St. Andrew Square in the east.

Dexter Gate is a familiar landmark to all Harvard graduates.

Harvard University was established in 1636 and is one of America’s earliest educational institutions after being set up by the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
On the face of its lintel is carved ‘Enter to grow in wisdom and on the reverse, depart to serve mankind’.
Harvard commissioned this bookend to commemorate the centenary of this landmark. In time it is hoped that other Ivy League and American universities may follow suit in commissioning their own models. The model was commissioned by Harvard and has been licensed to allow sales elsewhere.

Hopetoun House Edinburgh
By the 1760’s the Adam brothers, of whom the best known is Robert, were dominating the architecture of Britain.

They specialised in a mix of classical styles. The effect of liberally mixing Roman marbled interiors with Greek, Egyptian, Indian and Chinese additions released architecture from the sober approaches of previous architects.
The wealthy eagerly accepted the new fashionable style with a number of new houses being built and others being refurbished.
One example of these was Hopetoun House that overlooks the large estuary of the Firth of Fourth outside Edinburgh.
The bookend shows a detail from one of the wings, part of the Adam reshaping of this large country house.

At the turn of the 20th century this sensual style was sweeping through Europe from Brussels to Paris, Spain and then across the Atlantic to North America and Canada.
This well worked example shows the excitement and energy of the period.
Elements of Art Nouveau can be traced right back to decoration of medieval manuscripts, a style revived and exploited by England’s William Morris and then carried into architectural excess by Victor Horta of Belgium and Hector Guimard who designed the Parisian metros.

The Georgian town house is now famous by its association to Jane Austen.
Jane Austen (1775 – 1817) spent a great deal of her adult life in Bath.
Built of Bath stone the terraced row leads up to the circus and The Royal Crescent. Living here one could not help but engage in and observe Bath society as featured in many of her novels.
This model was developed as Tim wished to include the house of one of Baths most famous inhabitants. The pediment over the doorway is covered in beaten lead, a detail replicated in them model.

West Doorway Glasgow School of Art

Having completed the models of the west library tower and north front Tim returned to the Glasgow School of Art and wished to make a larger version of this particular doorway.
It has a unique character and shows Mackintosh at his most inventive.
The key stone is pushed back whilst a rolling curve breaks up into shapes filling the design with rhythm and power. It is both monumental and highly sensitive, both ancient and modern.
It is a pure and brilliant design. This was the first time Tim has taken a master and shot blasted the result giving the texture of old red sandstone of which the original was made.

The National Building Museum was designed by Montgomery C. Meigs, the U.S. Army quartermaster general in 1887.

Its impressive architectural features include the spectacular interior columns and a frieze, sculpted by Caspar Buberl, stretching around the exterior of the building featuring Civil War soldiers in scenes mirroring those on Trajan’s Column and the Horsemen Frieze of the Parthenon.
Casper Buberl created the frieze which includes 28 different scenes. It totals 1,200-foot in length and includes over 1,300 figures. The sculpture includes infantry, navy, artillery, cavalry and medical components, as well as quartermasters due to the affiliation with Meigs role during the civil war.

However, this grand design is eminently worthy of inclusion. The National Portrait Gallery is host to the portraits of the great, the good and the famously not so good, from Tudor England to present times. The three founding fathers look out from the wreathed niches whilst the lion and unicorn guard the double door entrance.
This model makes a classic bookend often chosen to pair with the Royal Academy bookend. It was commissioned by The National Portrait Gallery who also commissioned a limited edition that is now sold out.

On the one side there is the enclosed world of the University, on the other the square and town. The gate was named after a popular English Professor called William Lyon “Billy” Phelps.
The Latin inscription above the gate is the university’s motto; ”Lux et Veritas” (Light and Truth)
The upward face of the base of the sculpture is inscribed with the first two lines of the Alma Mata:
“Bright years, with pleasure rife,
the shortest, gladdest years of life.”

The carved keystone is part of the pedestrian archway leading into The Royal Academy Courtyard of Burlington House, an earlier 17th century Palladian villa. The heavy wrought iron gate is accurately reproduced using a brass etched fret through which light will fall in precise shadow whether lit from in front or behind.
Originally commissioned by The Royal Academy 1996 and often chosen to pair with The National Portrait Gallery.

This large house contains an important collection of art, assembled by the Wallace family.
Within the beautiful rooms are displayed French paintings, furniture, wood carvings and medieval armour.

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue better known as The White House has stood as a powerful symbol of the Presidency, the United States government and the American people for over 200 years.
In December 1790 President George Washington signed an Act of Congress declaring that the federal government would reside in a district not exceeding 10 miles square on the river Potomac.
Irish born James Hoban won the competition to find a builder of the Presidents House. The model shows the front door approached via the portico of the north side.
The scale of the pillars and quality of detailing denote its status and authority.
The fine details on the model were captured from elevation plans and photographs taken by Timothy. Lead castings were used for the door handles, which were then hand painted in gold.

It was from this house, using a telescope of his own design that William Herschel discovered the planet Uranus in 1781.
Number 19 New King Street forms part of a terrace and is by Bath standards a modest town-house.
It was built around 1764 and probably designed by one of the city’s less celebrated architects Strachan., and follows a fairly standard layout over five floors.
200 years after the historic discovery of Uranus, the house was restored and inaugurated as a museum.
It was restored again in 2000 and today is a Grade II listed building.

The model is a detail of the centre of the west front section of the house and was commissioned by Henrietta, the Marchioness of Tavistock. The model features also the Marchionesses’ two dogs portrayed in lead either side of the front door.

By the 1760’s the Adam brothers, of whom the best known is Robert, were dominating the architecture of Britain.

They specialised in a mix of classical styles. The effect of liberally mixing Roman marbled interiors with Greek, Egyptian, Indian and Chinese additions released architecture from the sober approaches of previous architects.
The wealthy eagerly accepted the new fashionable style with a number of new houses being built and others being refurbished.
One example of these was Hopetoun House that overlooks the large estuary of the Firth of Fourth outside Edinburgh.

This well worked example shows the excitement and energy of the period.

This model was developed as Tim wished to include the house of one of Baths most famous inhabitants. The pediment over the doorway is covered in beaten lead, a detail replicated in them model.

Having completed the models of the west library tower and north front Tim returned to the Glasgow School of Art and wished to make a larger version of this particular doorway.
It has a unique character and shows Mackintosh at his most inventive.
The key stone is pushed back whilst a rolling curve breaks up into shapes filling the design with rhythm and power. It is both monumental and highly sensitive, both ancient and modern.
It is a pure and brilliant design. This was the first time Tim has taken a master and shot blasted the result giving the texture of old red sandstone of which the original was made.

The National Building Museum was designed by Montgomery C. Meigs, the U.S. Army quartermaster general in 1887.

Its impressive architectural features include the spectacular interior columns and a frieze, sculpted by Caspar Buberl, stretching around the exterior of the building featuring Civil War soldiers in scenes mirroring those on Trajan’s Column and the Horsemen Frieze of the Parthenon.
Casper Buberl created the frieze which includes 28 different scenes. It totals 1,200-foot in length and includes over 1,300 figures. The sculpture includes infantry, navy, artillery, cavalry and medical components, as well as quartermasters due to the affiliation with Meigs role during the civil war.

This handsome gothic portal is remembered by all Yale students.
On the one side there is the enclosed world of the University, on the other the square and town. The gate was named after a popular English Professor called William Lyon “Billy” Phelps.
The Latin inscription above the gate is the university’s motto; ”Lux et Veritas” (Light and Truth)
The upward face of the base of the sculpture is inscribed with the first two lines of the Alma Mata:
“Bright years, with pleasure rife,
the shortest, gladdest years of life.”

The carved keystone is part of the pedestrian archway leading into The Royal Academy Courtyard of Burlington House, an earlier 17th century Palladian villa. The heavy wrought iron gate is accurately reproduced using a brass etched fret through which light will fall in precise shadow whether lit from in front or behind.
Originally commissioned by The Royal Academy 1996 and often chosen to pair with The National Portrait Gallery.

This detailed scale Timothy Richards doorway model provides a fine example of both modern and Art Deco style.
This single doorway model is of the second TSE, built on the original site and completed in 1937.
The style of the building is a mix of streamlined modern architecture and Art Deco.
The facade is made of limestone and pink granite with a fantastic frieze on the second floor level designed by Charles Comfort. The frieze depicts 33 life size figures each portraying the main Canadian industries.
These images are continued on in the stainless steel medallions carved into the front door.
The model is made of plaster, and brass with rose coloured glass behind the door.

This large house contains an important collection of art, assembled by the Wallace family.
Within the beautiful rooms are displayed French paintings, furniture, wood carvings and medieval armour.
This is one of the places where curators come to study.
This elegant doorway is from the courtyard of the house and uses silk to create a screen between the outside and inside of the building.
The lead urns stand forward of the door, the eye guided through the silk to daylight beyond.

Designed and built in the style of the European Gothic Cathedrals, this great Church was built without interruption, between 1907 and 1990.
The stone masons carvers and cutters were led by the Italian Vincent Polumbo, who spent most of his working life on this great building.
The rose window above the West Front door is a highlight and modelled here in glass.

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue better known as The White House has stood as a powerful symbol of the Presidency, the United States government and the American people for over 200 years.
In December 1790 President George Washington signed an Act of Congress declaring that the federal government would reside in a district not exceeding 10 miles square on the river Potomac.
Irish born James Hoban won the competition to find a builder of the Presidents House. The model shows the front door approached via the portico of the north side.
The scale of the pillars and quality of detailing denote its status and authority.
The fine details on the model were captured from elevation plans and photographs taken by Timothy. Lead castings were used for the door handles, which were then hand painted in gold.

It was from this house, using a telescope of his own design that William Herschel discovered the planet Uranus in 1781.
Number 19 New King Street forms part of a terrace and is by Bath standards a modest town-house.
It was built around 1764 and probably designed by one of the city’s less celebrated architects Strachan., and follows a fairly standard layout over five floors.
200 years after the historic discovery of Uranus, the house was restored and inaugurated as a museum.
It was restored again in 2000 and today is a Grade II listed building.

The history of the house begins in 1145 when Hugh de Bolebec founded a religious house for a group of Cistercian monks. In 1547 Edward VI granted Woburn Abbey to Sir John Russell, though it did not become a family home until 1619.
Today Woburn Abbey is set in a beautiful 3,000 acre deer park and is occupied by the 15th Duke of Bedford and his family.
The model is a detail of the centre of the west front section of the house and was commissioned by Henrietta, the Marchioness of Tavistock. The model features also the Marchionesses’ two dogs portrayed in lead either side of the front door.
